Little-Known, Big Differences

Senior Scam Protection That Works While You're Not Watching

Traditional advice tells seniors to be more careful. But modern scams are sophisticated — AI voice cloning, coordinated attacks, and pressure tactics work even on alert people. YouGuard detects and stops them in real time, while you get instant alerts.

The Gap Between "Awareness" and "Protection"

AI Voice Cloning Is Indistinguishable

Scammers can now clone your voice or a family member's voice perfectly. Being "aware" doesn't help when the caller sounds exactly like your grandchild. YouGuard catches these attacks automatically.

Scam Tactics Evolve Faster Than Awareness

Scammers change tactics every week. By the time awareness campaigns catch up, criminals have moved to new methods. YouGuard's AI adapts in real time.

Cognitive Changes Make Seniors More Vulnerable

Age-related cognitive changes are normal — and scammers specifically target these vulnerabilities. No amount of "awareness" overcomes neurological factors. Protection must be automatic.

How YouGuard Protects Seniors in Real Time

Six layers of detection that work automatically, 24/7, whether your parent is paying attention or not.

Cross-Channel Scam Detection

Correlates suspicious browser activity + unknown calls within 30 seconds. Modern scams happen across multiple channels at once — YouGuard catches the pattern.

Scam Page Detection

AI scans pages for fake virus warnings, tech support scams, phishing pages, and gift card fraud. Detects both common and new attack patterns.

Panic Button

"I think this is a scam" button sends instant alert to all guardians with exact page, timestamp, and context. Immediate response possible.

Google Web Risk Integration

Every URL checked against Google's malware/phishing database. Real-time verification of page safety using industry-standard threat intelligence.

Real-Time Guardian Alerts

Instant email and dashboard notifications when scam patterns detected. Includes full context to understand what happened and intervene immediately.

Full-Screen Scam Alarm

Cross-channel suspicious call triggers full-screen alarm on Android with sound. Gets immediate attention — no way to miss it.

The Cross-Channel Scam Pattern

How modern scams work — and how YouGuard catches them

1

Scam Page Loads

Your parent browses the web. They land on a page with a fake virus warning or "tech support" banner. Without YouGuard, this looks like any other website.

2

Follow-Up Call Arrives Within Seconds

The phone rings. The caller claims to be "tech support" and says there's a problem. Without YouGuard, each event looks isolated — just a website and a call.

3

YouGuard Correlates Both Signals

YouGuard detects the pattern: scam page loaded + unknown call within 30 seconds = coordinated attack. This is not a coincidence. This is a scam.

✓ Full-screen alarm fires on phone
✓ Guardian receives instant email alert with all context

Set Up Remote Protection for Your Parent

1

Create Account & Connect Device

Sign up with your email. Provide your parent's phone number to connect their Android device. Works with regular phones — no special hardware needed.

2

Install Browser Shield Extension

Add YouGuard Browser Shield to their computer (Chrome or Edge). Installation takes 1 minute. The extension runs silently in the background and monitors all browser activity.

3

Enable Cross-Channel Monitoring

In the mobile app settings, enable "elder care mode" to activate cross-channel scam detection. Call monitoring becomes active — the system correlates browser + calls.

4

Configure Guardian Alerts

Choose your alert preferences: email only, SMS + email, or real-time dashboard. You get notified immediately when suspicious patterns detected. Done.

Your parent needs to know they're monitored. YouGuard is designed for transparency — we're not hiding the protection. Your parent receives a notification that monitoring is active. The system runs passively and alerts them only if they press the panic button.

Senior Scam Protection — FAQ

Does my parent need to do anything to set up YouGuard?
Minimal setup is required from your parent. You create the account and set up most of the monitoring remotely. Your parent needs to accept the pairing code on their phone (one tap) and allow the Browser Shield extension on their computer (one-time install). After that, the system runs automatically in the background. They receive a notification that they're monitored, but the monitoring is passive — they don't have to do anything unless they press the panic button.
What exactly triggers a scam alert?
Scam alerts fire when YouGuard detects: (1) Unknown calls correlating with suspicious browser pages within 30 seconds, (2) Pages flagged by Google Web Risk API as malware or phishing, (3) AI detection of fake virus warnings, tech support scams, or phishing pages on screen, (4) Panic button pressed by your parent. Each alert includes the exact page, call details, timestamp, and context so you can understand what happened and intervene if needed.
What happens when my parent presses the panic button?
Pressing "I think this is a scam" sends an instant critical alert to all guardians. You receive an email immediately with the exact page URL, current browser context, a screenshot of what they're viewing, and the timestamp. You can call them right away to talk them through it, or if they ignore a real scam, you can help mitigate damage quickly. The report also logs to our AI system to improve scam detection for all users.
Does this work on iPhones or iPads?
Call monitoring and cross-channel scam detection require Android. Browser Shield (computer protection) works on Windows and Mac with Chrome or Edge, independent of the phone OS. So if your parent has an iPhone, you can still monitor their computer for scam sites and get panic button alerts, but the cross-channel call correlation won't be available. We're exploring iOS support for future releases.
Can multiple family members be guardians?
Yes. You can add multiple guardians to monitor the same senior's account. All guardians receive alerts in real time. Each guardian can manage their own alert settings, block lists, and preferences. This is helpful for families where multiple adult children want to stay aware of their aging parent's safety.
What is cross-channel scam detection?
Modern scams are coordinated across multiple channels simultaneously. A fake virus warning pops up on a computer screen, and seconds later a follow-up call arrives claiming to be tech support. YouGuard correlates browser activity and phone calls happening within 30 seconds. When both signals appear together, it's not a coincidence — it's a coordinated scam attack. YouGuard detects this pattern and fires a full-screen alarm on the phone with sound, getting immediate attention. This is unique protection that other senior apps don't offer.
