How does YouGuard work?
Sign up with your Google account, then send an invite link to your child. When they click the link and connect their YouTube account, you'll be able to see their subscriptions and liked videos. You can then block concerning channels (which unsubscribes them and unlikes videos) or approve safe ones.
What can I see on my child's account?
YouTube: Subscriptions and liked videos. SMS/MMS: All text messages and photo/video attachments (with Android app). Calls: Call log with contact status. You cannot see passwords, email contents, or other apps. Everything monitored is transparent to your child.
Is this spyware?
No. YouGuard is fully transparent - your child knows they're being monitored. They voluntarily connect their account via an invite link you send them, and they can disconnect at any time. This is designed to build trust, not break it.
What happens when I block a channel?
Blocking a channel in YouGuard unsubscribes your child and unlikes all videos from that channel. The channel is added to your blocklist. If they try to resubscribe, it's automatically removed during the next sync. This actually changes YouTube's algorithm, reducing recommendations for similar content.
